The Association for Environmental Education NSW was established in 1972.

The regional branches - namely Hunter (Ecoedge Network), Sydney (Sydney Environmental Educators Network (SEEN)), Illawarra and AEE (Central Coast) - run their own program of activities, with an emphasis on the role of environmental education in local environments.

The Conference is the key way the Association reaches out, not only to its members, but to the community at large.
