Transport to Mt Penang is probably easiest by car.
From Sydney take the F3 expressway north from Wahroonga. Travel about 45 minutes till you come to the Gosford turnoff. At the second set of lights prepare to turn left immediately into the Mt Penang Parklands.
If you are coming from the north, do not use the Ourimbah exit. Keep going south for another 10 minutes or so and take the Gosford exit (Kariong).
Train and buses connections:

Alternatively you can catch a number 34 bus toward Kariong. The bus turns off to the left at the top of the hill on Pacific Highway. You will find yourself adjacent to a Shell petrol station. Head back across the higway and you will see the entrance to Mt Penang Parkland. Follow the signs from there. It's a five to ten minute walk.
